Is it safe?

This is probably the most often asked question and indeed the most misunderstood.
Microlighting can be dangerous! But first we need to differentiate between the pilot (thats the dangerous bit) and their aircraft. 
The aircraft are certified to withstand +6g loading and -3g loading with no damage, they will fly quite happily 'hands off' , cannot remain in a stall, will not spin and will automatically recover from a dive, add a pilot to the scenario and things can change. 
The reality is that if approached sensibly it is one of the safest and most rewarding flying activities around. All schools in Australia are required to conform to the Civil Aviation Authority (CASA) minimum standards for equipment, operational systems, certification and ongoing support. Equipment must also be certified to rigorous Australian and international safety standards.
